MBNA Celtic Credit Card

Football is a very popular sport in the UK.  Being able to support your team could be very important to you and there is a way for that to happen without any extra cost to you.  In this review we will be looking specifically at the MBNA Celtic credit card.  The Celtic team is just one of the many you could support, and if they are your team it would seem a wise choice to have their card in your wallet after we explain how you would be supporting them.

First the Celtic card will help build the football club because any contribution made from MBNA to the club goes to the academy.  The card is not just for helping keep the club in great shape.  There are rewards for you as well.  When you make a purchase you are earning points.  Once you reach enough of the points you can get certain rewards on a trade in.  For example if you have a total of 1000 points you can get a signed photo, Celtic mug, or beanie hat.  If you earn 10,000 points you can get a tour of Lennoxtown with a Celtic legend or the match day premium 67 club.  The rewards are gained by purchases, but these can be any purchases and as long as you pay the balance off before the due date you will not be charged interest.  That is how this card can really help you.

Credit cards have interest rates and you will find the Celtic Credit Card has an annual percentage rate of 14.9 percent.  This is fairly standard on the market right now.  If you do end up paying this amount you could be paying more for the rewards, that’s why it can be a better card if you make the right kind of purchase. The points will accrue so you don’t have to be worried about losing them.

Another benefit that we found with this card is the introductory balance transfer rate.  They are offering 1.9 percent interest for six months. This period starts on the account opening date and not when you receive the card.  While it is a short period and you are still being charged interest there may not be a better deal open to you that supports the Celtic team.

The main purpose is supporting your football team, but you also want a card that works for you.  If you have a high balance on another card and can get zero percent interest for 12 months you are in a better position for paying it off without more cost to you personally.

The thing is if you use the card for balance transfers you don’t want to use it to earn points until you have paid off the balance.  MBNA also offers free fraud protection, 58 days of free interest if you pay on time and in full, and 24 hour customer service.  These benefits are very similar to other cards on the market with the exception of the Celtic Club rewards.
